Mallorca Finca Guide for your holiday on the island

What does the name Majorca Finca mean actually?

What does the name Finca mean? Finca was originally the name for the land and from this translation the term for the finca or country house was taken over. A finca lies always on the countryside and a finca always has a large plot of land of at least 7000m2, depending on the location and age of the house. Anyone who wants to book a finca (country house) for his vacation can always assume that he has no direct neighbours and can spend his vacation in a quiet and rural location.
A holiday home is always situated in an urbanization, a residential area with neighbours and usually you will also find nearby shopping possibilities. Depending on the location there can also be a beach nearby. The terms Chalet and Villa exist also and are often used in newer or modern holiday homes and differ only by the architectural style.
The modern chalets are built in the so-called Bauhaus style and rather minimalist. White and metal are here the preferred materials.
A villa can usually be found in the first sea line or it is a very impressive holiday home. A villa is very exclusive due to the location and facilities. The architectural style can be very different and is possible from modern to classic. Each region has its own style, in Cala D’Or for example, the villas are often kept in white. Depending on the location of the villa, the architecture is often easy to recognize.
We hope that this introduction has given you an initial overview which types of holiday homes are available at all.
